Old Dane Country Club, previously named Iron Horse Golf Course, is a public 9 hole golf course located in Dakota City, Nebraska, about 16 minutes south west of Sioux City, Iowa.
Iron Horse Golf Course opened in 2001. Iron Horse had both a 3,050 yard, par-36, 9-hole regulation course and a 2,250 yard, par-32, 9-hole executive course. Iron Horse was designed by Terry L. Johnson. Iron Horse closed in 2006.
The course reopened in April 2012 with some revisons and a name to Old Dane Country Club. The facility no longer has an executive 9. The regulation 9 has been lengthed some 250 yards.
Old Dane is a links style course. The course measures roughly 3,300 yards from the back tees. The shortest par-3 is 147 yards and the longest par-4 plays 470. #8 is the the signature hole, a 236-yard par-3 with water on the left.
Each hole at Old Dane is named for a person in the area of Danish heritage.
